Blueberry picking

Because strawberry picking was such a success we decided to try our hand at blueberry picking. We got suited up and headed into the field. It was pretty apparent that this was going to be a little harder than strawberry picking. Even though it was opening day the first 15 rows of berries seemed to be picked over, which meant we ended up with maybe 5-10 berries per row.

But then we found an untouched part of the field and went to work. Some of us stepped into a few fire ant piles and pretty soon it was only the adults(and Kayden) still picking. We ended up with about 12 pounds of blueberries after 90 minutes of work. While the blueberries were good and it was good for the kids to be put to work, I would say that strawberry picking is what I will be sticking to!
